Warsaw, VA December 18, 2025 – All over the world, there are people who care deeply about saving the natural spaces that they love. On the Northern Neck and in Essex County, folks take that mission driven spirit to the next level by permanently conserving the land they love by establishing conservation easements with the Northern Neck Land Conservancy. The Land Conservancy is proud to announce it successfully renewed its land trust accreditation proving that, as part of a network of over 450 accredited land trusts across the nation, it is committed to conservation excellence.

“Northern Neck Land Conservancy’s second accreditation renewal shows its steadfast commitment to the highest standards of land protection for the Northern Neck and Essex County,” said Lisa Biever, Executive Director. “We are a more capable organization than ever after the Land Trust Accreditation Commission’s rigorous review. Regional landowners can continue to place their trust in the Land Conservancy’s support to establish new conservation easements and to steward them in perpetuity.”

Over the last year, Northern Neck Land Conservancy provided extensive documentation and underwent a comprehensive third-party evaluation to ensure Land Trust Accreditation Commission standards were met. The Land Conservancy was awarded renewal of accreditation, signifying confidence that the lands they hold in easement will be protected forever. This process will be repeated in five years to ensure the Land Conservancy’s commitment to excellence does not change.

Northern Neck Land Conservancy is dedicated to preserving the rural heritage of the Northern Neck and Essex County by conserving its lands, water, economies and culture for future generations.
